The Laws of Kingdom Living

By Pastor Darryl Woodson
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul:… _Psalm 19:7

As evidenced by the earthly, all kingdoms (especially spiritual) have laws that the people in it have to live by. The kingdom of heaven most definitely has laws set by the King God. These laws are His commands that teach man His ways and that must be followed for effective living in the kingdom. The laws by which one lives qualify them a citizen to a particular kingdom. The adherence to God’s laws prospers life. It is well thought that the Sermon on the Mount is the backbone of the law of the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5-7

At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps…five of them were foolish and five were wise. _Matthew 25:1-2
It is wise for me to seek wisdom in life, yet if I find wisdom and do not heed to it, I become but a fool. I must be a doer and not only a hearer of the law of the kingdom which I claim to be a part of. We find that iniquity as mentioned in Matthew7:21-23 is a man that practices lawlessness.

Frighteningly, it is possible for one to be in the kingdom and become familiar with the commands of God such that he does not obey them. This can manifest, for example when one has a constant feeling of not being forgiven by God for personal iniquities because possibly, there is unforgiveness lurking in the heart.
But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your sins. _Mark 11:26.

Another scenario that puts this point across is the principle of sowing and reaping. It is not only a biblical but also an earthly principle. Genesis 8:22, Galatians 6:7
…but he who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward. _Proverbs 11:18
If hearing and putting into practice the Word of God is to build on the rock, can you, honest to yourself, say that you are building on the rock? Are your finances as stable as is promised in the Word? Are your relationships with people prospering towards personal effectiveness? For the Word is to be done, not to be ignored.
