God often
changes and molds our visions. The death of a vision is a work of God but it is
in His will because He slowly rebirths it with time. We may wonder why He does
this, since He is the giver of all visions:
1. To make the vision and plan His own.
God is jealous for His people and their heart and He requires them to be wholly
His through humility towards Him. It is true, I am learning, that in humility
is safety.
2. God always has a better plan for us.
As we grow in Christ, He changes us and gives us newer versions of our visions
that are molded closer to His heart and purpose.
In the book
of Nehemiah chapter 1 and verse 11, Nehemiah has received a vision to go to
Israel and rebuild its wall. He went out not knowing exactly what was going to
happen but he went anyway and on arrival, he found what the Lord had prepared
there. When Nehemiah got the news about the survivors of the Jews, he was
filled with anguish. The holy anguish that we feel in our spiritual lives
brings about a lot of grow.
…I told no one what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem;
nor was there any animal with me,… _Nehemiah
2:12
When he
sneaks into Jerusalem by night, God starts to unfold the vision before him.
Sometimes to go where God wants us, it’s through darkness and uncertainty but
He is our confidence and surely He comes through and proves Himself good.
…that they became very angry, and all of them conspired together
to come and attack Jerusalem and create confusion. _Nehemiah 4:7-8
Discouragement
crept in among the people. There can be confusion in the process of things and
this is all brought on by the devil. The discouragement can come from being in
a bad relationship, a sin you can´t get victory over, an addiction…yet it can
be overcome.
…when our enemies heard that it was known to us, and that God had
brought their plot to nothing, that all of us returned to the wall, everyone to
his work. _Nehemiah 4:15
God does
want to fight for us! This does not come as a surprise because we are His sons.
Nehemiah 4:21.
The builders of the wall built with great zeal that came with passion. And this
is the key to success in everything we do in our lives. I have to be wholly
committed and passionate about the things I do.
When we put
our heart, mind and soul into something and know that we are truly in the will
of God, we are sure to have victory in all areas.
Remember me, O my God, for good! _Nehemiah 13:30.
Where have
you set your heart, your mind? Does it bring God glory? It is of essence that all
the works of your hands are for the kingdom of God.
