Living in the NOW!

by Pastor Darryl Woodson

Come now, you who say, ¨Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city…whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. _James 4:13-14

In this generation, most people believe that their tomorrow is more important than their today, yet now, in the present have we been clothed in godliness and in Jesus Christ. We are, and not will be, great, dressed and ready to go. Much attention must be paid to the present and I know that who I am now is what I always will be, a son of the living God, blessed and justified.

My best days are now, and are not yet to come, the future is for God to set in place, the present is for me to live in the fullness of. There is neither better tomorrow nor better to come, nothing like after graduation or after a promotion or marriage will I find my purpose, my purpose is who God says I am now, His workmanship.

And herein is our destiny, to be loved by God and to become love to others.
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. _1st Corinthians 13:13

Hope is our proclamation, faith the activation, the victory. Hebrews 11:1, 1John 5:4
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, _Hebrews 6:19

With an anchor for my soul as this hope, I know that the reality for me and all who have believed is that; I am not an empty cup, I mustn´t trust my feelings and I must spend time in the presence of God daily.
...that He would grant you,…to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith;… _Ephesians 3:16-19

Hope is good but it is different from Faith;
It has to do with what I will receive while faith with what I already have,
Hope looks at what it doesn’t have while faith at what it already has,
Hope is a future thing while faith is a now thing,
Hope is about what is coming while faith is about what already is,
Hope has to do with trusting while faith has to do with manifesting,
Hope is my trust in something that has yet to be fulfilled while faith is about something that has already happened
hope dreams and plans, faith carries out the plan.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. _James 1:17
If we put our faith in the One who gives, and not in what is given, how different our hearts and lives would be? How different would your life be, if you looked at the God the Giver and not at the protection or provision, or the favour?
