Dressed in His Greatness_Part 1

By Pastor Darryl Woodson

The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself. _Proverbs 11:25

A story is told of a widowed woman that encountered a prophet that asked her for something to eat. Now she only had but a little oil and a little flour, yet she gave all the little that she had only to be multiplied exceedingly in return. Now we all have something to give, to bless another with. The mentality that we have to wait for our blessing to come is wrong, because we already are blessed.

There is always something else that is greater behind the blessing. How we give often transcends what we give. Say I give someone a hug, I know that I have love and peace that God put in me and I know that I can transfer the same to the one whom I hug to bring comfort.
I have to know what I have before I can give it; I cannot give what I don’t know I have.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,… _ 1st Peter 1:3
We have been begotten to a living hope, what other hope do I need than this? 1st Corinthians 13:13
I have been given faith, hope and love, therefore I share the faith that I have, giving hope to the hopeless, and love to the lonely and broken-hearted.

There is a difference between being dressed for and dressed in something. It is not a matter of me dressing up, but a matter of knowing that I am dressed already in greater things that my Father God has dressed me up in.
…Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh… _Galatians 5:16-22
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. _Romans 13:14

Who I am is a son of the Living God and I should live like it, letting His character be built up in my life. Galatians4:6-7
We should remember that we do not get our identity from;
1. What we do like the jobs we hold, the abilities we have, the spiritual giftings etc.

2. What we have. The good phone or the expensive clothes, nor the good looks identify who we truly are.

3. What others think about you. People will always have an opinion about things and especially about people, so varied are they that to live by them would be to live a life of extreme highs and of course, extreme lows.

4. What we dream about. Many people live their lives with a ´someday-I-am-going-to-be-great´ attitude. Yet we must remember, we are not a someday kind of people, but a people of today, I live today, I love today, I bless others today.
What has defined your identity, brethren, for your whole life or just recently? Know it and be sure it is God´s word entirely.
