Galatians 4:6-7_6 And because you
are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying,
Abba, Father. 7 Therefore you are no more
a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Galatians 5:16-22_ 16 This I say
then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and
the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so
that you cannot do the things that you would. 18 But
if you be led of the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now
the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication,
impurity, licentiousness, 20 Idolatry,
witchcraft, hatred, strife, jealousy, wrath, selfishness, divisions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings,
and such like: of which I tell you beforehand, as I have also told you in time
past, that they who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Romans 8:5-6_5 For they that
are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after
the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For
to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
The question of who a person is brings to mind a lot
of answers and we all need to know and understand who we are. A good place to
start would be to know whose you are. Distinctively, to be carnally minded and
of the old nature is to belong to darkness, and to be spiritually minded and a
new creation is to belong to the Light. To be born again is to live as the new
creation that we have been born into. Let us live from our new and true
identity. To live as such is to walk in the Spirit, setting our mind on the
things of the Spirit. Jesus came that we might be totally changed and
transformed, from good to better to best and beyond, to His likeness.
This is how we live as new, by crucifying the flesh;
Galatians 5:24-25_ 24 And they that
are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in
the Spirit.
When we get born again, we get clothed in His
righteousness.
Romans 13:14_ 14 But put on the
Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts
thereof.
It seems that we tend to listen more to what the
world says about us than what God sings to us. Being born again and then trying
to put back on the ways of the world is sinful, without faith and dangerous.
Becoming secure with who God made us and is making us to be helps us live out
the fullness of our destiny. It doesn’t matter what the circumstances say
around us, we can speak to them in the confidence of who we are because of
Christ and the victory He assured for us.
Proverbs 31:30_ 30 Charm is
deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that fears the LORD, she shall be
praised.
The devil masquerades evil and bad things as good,
pleasant and desirable. But the devil and his ways of sin bring guilt and
condemnation.
Genesis 3:6-13_ 6 And when the woman saw that
the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to
be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and
gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And
the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they
sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. 8 And
they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the
day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God
among the trees of the garden. 9 And
the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where are you? 10 And he said, I heard your voice in the garden,
and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. 11 And
he said, Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree, of which
I commanded you that you should not eat? 12 And
the man said, The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree,
and I did eat. 13 And the LORD God said unto
the woman, What is this that you have done? And the woman said, The serpent
beguiled me, and I did eat.

Satan’s target: Your mind
·
Satan’s weapon: Lies
·
Satan’s purpose: To make you
ignorant.
·
Our defense: The inspired Word
of God. (Ephesian 6:17_ 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the
sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God…)
·
Our protection: Faith.
·
Our victory: Walking in Truth.
There
are some 3 lies that keep us back to our old nature;
1.
Our past determines our future.
Stop finding reason to stay the same.
Truth: 2nd Corinthians 5:17_17 Therefore
if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new.
And God makes all things
beautiful!
2.
I need to think about myself
first. Worry is of the old nature.
Truth: Matthew 6:31-34_ 31 Therefore
take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, How
shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all
these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that you
have need of all these things. 33 But seek
you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall
be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought
for tomorrow: for tomorrow shall take thought of the things for itself.
Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
3.
I need you to like/love me for
me to be happy.
Truth: 1st John 2:10-11_ 10 He
that loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no occasion of
stumbling in him. 11 But he that hates his
brother is in darkness, and walks in darkness, and knows not where he goes,
because that darkness has blinded his eyes.
