Children's Camp 2012 and A day in the week of Prayer and Fasting

THE CHILDREN’S CAMP 2012

The wave of the glory of God sweeping through VCC Ntinda did not spare us during the children’s camp at the scripture union campsite from the 12th – 14th of January 2012. We had over 50 participant’s attending this annual camp.

The most outstanding thing that happened at the camp was the way God moved amongst the children. I was leading a ministry time session and decided just to speak from my heart about the fatherhood of God and how he has been a father to me. Using the text from the story of the prodigal son, I talked of how passionately God loves us despite us having a wrong image of the bad examples our earthly fathers might have portrayed to us.

I felt the spirit of God come so strong upon me and I just become so emotional… trying hard to grab a hold of my self, all the children came and started praying for me and all of a sudden they all broke into tears… wow for a moment I did not know what to do but let God do what he wanted to do.

We then started ministering to them as they hugged and embraced the love of God as we were prophesying over them. What puzzled me most was the way they all started praying for each other and prophesying… surely God was serious when he said,

And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; (the children included) and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:’

(Joel 2:28 KJV)

It was the most beautiful experience for me to see my little ones passionate for God. Other activities we had that were equally powerful were; quiet time, memory verse, the word, workshops, bible study, focus groups, beach time, games, camp fire etc.

On Sunday the children gave some testimonies of how the camp impacted them and I thank God for the transformation he has started in their lives. Our theme was ‘Get rooted in the Word’ Psalm 1:1-6.

We also had life changing activities that ranged from quiet time, memory verse, the word, bible study, workshops, focus groups, prayer and counseling, live wire talk show, camp fire, games, swimming and beach time etc…

All in all, the glory of God fell on the camp in an amazing way…

THE WEEK OF PRAYER AND FASTING

The day begins with an entry into the holy of holies as we touch the heart of God with passionate intercession for the church and ourselves from 6:30am.

As the rays of the sun hit through the windows, our breakfast is spiced up with each day a staff member sharing on how to be passionate for Fasting, prayer, miracles, children, the lost and the prophetic.

After being soaked in the word, many of the members rush off to work for the day. The prayer room remains open as during the day some choose to spend the day in the presence of God with heart felt music playing the whole day.

At about 4:30pm, hungry believers for God start flooding the prayer room and we spend about two hours seeking the face of God. The day is crowned with the word, or a prophetic utterance.

At the end of the day, we all leave hungrier for more of God anxiously waiting for the next day and what God has for us.

What is being birthed at VCC Ntinda this week I believe is very instrumental for how the year is going to be. Will you be apart of it?

Have  a blessed fast.
